Notes: Sosa may boast only one career win, but what a win! On May 29, 1998 in Veracruz, Mexico, Sosa squared off with a young, undefeated fighter and earned his first career win in his seventh fight. That fighter? Future pound-for-pound entrant and future unified junior bantamweight titlist Christian Mijares. Ten months later, Mijares got revenge in a rematch, earning an eight-round decision. Sosa never won another fight, though he would fight on for another ten years. Even with Mijares losing some of his luster after back-to-back losses, a fighter with only one career victory in 20+ fights almost never has that lone victory against an opponent the caliber of Mijares. Sosa did – an accomplishment worth noting.
